Music A-Chording to Smithers...

Theresa Michelle Mohr

Singer/Songwriter | Alternative

Theresa is a singer-songwriter from the wilds of Northern BC. Her thought-provoking lyrics are emotion-rich and laden with nature's landscape and wildlife, and underscored by percussive and energetic guitar riffs. Theresa's album Porcupine, produced by the Alkemist, will be officially released on May 12, 2018 at the Driftwood Schoolhouse in the Bulkley Valley.

Theresa Michelle Mohr has been active in the local and regional music scene for more than 10 years, since she got up the nerve to perform her first song live at a coffeehouse. Since then she has been a singer and guitarist in several local bands, including the spirited garage band Tree Bomb. Solo and alongside musical collaborators, Theresa performs at festivals, restaurants, pubs, coffeehouses, farmers markets, nonprofit events and more.

Committed to music as a life-long growing experience that is meant to be shared, Theresa has also taught guitar and songwriting for several years, from her home studio and at Smithers Younger Guitar Camp. She brings a professional background in social work and her role as mother of a young person with autism to her work as a musician. This people-focused skill and knowledge set give Theresa a deep understanding of how humans make sense of their lives and the world; she poetically transforms this understanding  into meaningful, relevant lyrics.
